ABOUT THIS RING

OK Aussies, here is a chance to simultaneously express your patriotic pride and discerning taste with this absolutely stunning, rare, and impressive gemstone. The radiant royal blue color of this 5.97 carat oval cushion-cut sapphire of Australian origin can rival the best from Burma, Ceylon, or Cambodia. In fact, we were quite amused and surprised when we received the results in the accompanying GIA Gemstone Report attesting to its unexpected origin. Fine sizable Australian sapphires are few and far between. This breathtaking gemstone is magnificently presented in a classic 'Lady Di' style mounting, hand fabricated in platinum and sparkling all around with bright icy-white, high-quality round brilliant-cut diamonds and a pair of sizable tapered baguette diamonds on the shoulders, all totaling 2.50 carats. A superb and thoroughly stunning estate jewel. The EBH maker's mark indicates Elleard Heffern, St. Louis' foremost and finest jeweler, since 1913. Currently ring size 6 1/2.

About Estate Jewelry

Though it calls to mind grand manor houses in the English countryside, “estate” is just a fancy way of describing any piece of jewelry with a previous owner. That’s pretty much everything in our collection. We tend to use “estate” to refer to pieces in our collection with a more modern or contemporary design, or vintage-inspired designs. These perennial gems are selected in harmony with our original antique and vintage pieces…they’re just a little bit younger!

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
