ABOUT THIS RING

The opening of King Tut's tomb in 1922 was the inspiration for the fabulously distinctive and visually intriguing Egyptian Revival-style designs represented in Art Deco jewelry during the 1920's-30's, and rarely more artfully displayed than in this remarkable ring. The high-profile centerpiece is a gleaming deep cobalt blue pyramid-shaped, gold flecked, lapis lazuli stone engraved on one side with the Eye of Horus - a symbol of protection, power, and good health, with three pyramids etched on the opposite side. The base of the stone is trimmed all around with glittering single-cut diamonds accented with stylized fan shapes composed of buff-top emeralds, black onyx, and corals to form a dramatically stunning architectural gallery and shoulders, all further embellished with an open scroll design. Egyptian Revival at its finest. A rare, sizable, and strikingly stunning work of wearable art, and a captivating, collectable, conversation piece. Hand fabricated platinum. Measures 7/8 by 5/8 by 1/2 inch. Currently ring size 6 1/2.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
