ABOUT THIS RING

The Ancient Greeks--they contributed so much to world art history: fresco painting, exquisite sculpture, iconic architecture. While you might not recall the difference between a doric and a corinthian column, just about everyone is familiar with the Greek key, or meander, design. The highly recognizable pattern is a continuous line that repeatedly folds back on itself, mimicking the ancient Maender River of Asia Minor. The design is used with great effect in this stunning Art Deco style ring. Centered with a scintillating 1.00 carat European-cut diamond, the octagonal top is decorated with sapphires set in the key pattern between offset diamond-studded "spokes." The under gallery is hand pierced creating an openwork key motif and small glittering old-mine cut diamonds on the shoulders add the finishing flourish. A masterpiece for your finger. Handle with care--not for everyday wear. Total diamond weight, 1.60 carats; total sapphire weight, 1.15 carats. Hand fabricated in platinum, currently ring size 8.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
