ABOUT THIS RING

This symbolic* feminist finger bauble features a rich royal purple faceted round amethyst fancifully framed all around with a scallop design of bright-white single-cut diamonds punctuated a half dozen times with gorgeous rich green pear shape emeralds, all supported by pinched diamond-set shoulders. *The vintage of this ring (circa mid-20th-century) is long past the time of the Suffragette movement, but some may recognize green, white, and violet as the chosen colors of the Women's Social and Political Union, one of the most active groups campaigning for women's suffrage in the United Kingdom from 1903 to 1918. Measuring 11/16 inch diameter, this stunning and colorful jewel is hand fabricated in platinum. In a platinum (65%), palladium (20%), and a mix of metals (including gold). Currently ring size 7 3/4. Condition note: one emerald has a small chip.

About Mid-Century Jewelry

Mid-Century jewelers gave the Victorians a run for their money when it came to variety—with the added bonus of big, bold gems in every shape, size, and color. Themes of previous eras were made fabulous enough to match the optimism of the post-war world. Transitional pieces bridged the gap between the first and second half of the 20th century.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
