ABOUT THIS JEWELRY

This seriously striking and intricately detailed Art Deco stunner dates from the peak of the Jazz Age, circa 1925. A central round faceted blueberry-blue sapphire centers a pair of old mine cut diamonds that radiate in each direction with fanciful diamond-set fans, all of which overlay a magnificent lozenge-shaped background emblazoned with alternating diamond and synthetic* sapphire stripes. A sparkling diamond-set scalloped frame, bringing the total diamond weight to 6.00 carats, adds the finishing flourish. This gorgeous and utterly impressive Jazz Age jewel measures 2 inches by 1 1/2 inches. Chain measures 18 inches. *Back in the day, circa the 1920s-30s, due to their uniformity of color and flawless clarity, synthetic sapphires were considered a modern improvement over their natural counterparts, their virtually undetectable differences discernible only with a microscope.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
