70-1-197
ABOUT THIS JEWELRY
By the notable New York Jeweler of the Art Deco period, Theodore B. Starr Inc., this sleek, chic and sophisticated open face pocket watch (a.k.a. Tuxedo Watch) is crafted in platinum and encircled with sparkling white single-cut diamond bezel (1.00 carat total diamond weight) and features a fine Tissot 17 Jewel movement, silvered dial, Arabic chapter markers, sub second dial, *synthetic sapphire crown. The case dimensions are 51 mm tall by 41 mm wide. *Back in the day, circa 1920s-30s, due to their uniformity of color and flawless clarity, synthetic sapphires were considered a modern improvement over their natural counterparts, besides the fact that the virtually undetectable differences are only discernible with a microscope.
