Edwardian Diamond Brooch by Pickslay & Co
$2,450.00
Measuring an eminently wearable 1 1/2 inch long, this consummate Art Deco brooch, lightly hand fabricated in platinum, circa 1920, artfully employs negative space to enhance a sparkling array of round diamonds. The maker's mark indicates Pickslay & Co, NY. .90 carat carat total diamond weight.

TMI found on the internet: Charles Pickslay emigrated from the UK and set up shop in New York. He had his own store on 5th Ave and at the Met Life building, and was registered from approximately 1870-1900. He was a member of the "society" crowd with his son's and daughters wedding written up in the society pages. He did work for Theodor Starr who had a high end jewelry store near Madison Square. Pickslay worked for Starr in at least 1889 when there was a lawsuit over whether his Christmas bonus was a bonus or a draw. He then opened his own store with a partner Alfred P. Hinton at Broadway and 20th Street.
