Early Victorian Seed Pearl Garland Necklace
$11,750.00
From the fabulous forties--1840s that is!-- at the very latest, here we have the finest example of a Early Victorian-era seed pearl garland necklace we've yet to encounter. Finely hand carved and pierced mother of pearl plaques serve as the invisible backings which support the intricate floral motifs composed of fine strands of tiny white seed pearls (threaded with white horse hair) that create this rare, ravishing, and romantic treasure. In pristine condition and nestled nicely in its original red leather, royal purple velvet lined fitted box. A delectable collectable. Hand fabricated, it measures 16 1/2 inches long and the width varies from 1/2 inch at the back to 1 1/4 inches at the center.
