ABOUT THIS RING

Few if any original Jazz Age Jewels come as fine and fabulous as this beautifully stylized 'cigar band' ring by Maurice Tishman. Starring a bright and lively European-cut diamond, weighing 1.91 carats, the GIA certified stone (L-VS2) is bordered north and south by slender curves composed of a long baguette bookended by pairs of small square-cut diamonds. To the east and west are a trio of sparkling diamond-set crescents, the last of which meets the baguette borders to create the side gallery. A truly superb, stunning and sophisticated Art Deco dazzler - circa 1925. Maurice Tishman's meticulous attention to detail is evident in every aspect of this low-profile (finger-hugging) ring. We found the following on the web:

Maurice Tishman was born in New York in 1887 and started his career as a jeweler in 1907. After having served in World War I, he opened his manufacturing shop in New York in the 1920s on Fifth Ave. In his small shop, Maurice Tishman produced many individually designed fine pieces of jewelry until his death in 1955 at the age of 68.

How to Pair Your Wedding Band

You found your ideal, beautiful, one-of-a-kind antique or vintage engagement ring… and then realized that you need a wedding band to go with it. Pairing the two can be tricky, since vintage engagement rings rarely come with matching bands, and many modern bands don’t accommodate vintage shapes and designs. So we created a line of vintage-style wedding bands, modeled after original pieces from our collection.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
