ABOUT THIS NECKLACE

This exquisitely designed cross pendant apparently dates from the turn-of-the-twentieth century, however, the sparkling high-crowned table-cut diamonds were cut much earlier. The captivating and curvaceous jewel is rendered in rich, softly textured, 18K yellow gold and measures just shy of 2 3/4 inches, including the mating bail, or loop, by 1 3/4 inches. Although unmarked, this delightful piece is redolent of French style and grace with Art Nouveau overtones. The new chain is 14K.
