Antique Opal, Diamond, Pearl and Demantoid Garnet Spider Pendant/Brooch
ABOUT THIS JEWELRY
We imagine that while Little Miss Muffet was sitting on her tuffet eating her curds and whey, if along came this spider and sat down beside her, she would not have been frightened away. On the contrary, she would have made this spider her own--and so can you! The alluring arachnid has a mesmerizing 3.60 carat opal body--imbued with iridescent hues of blue, green, orange, gold, and violet-blue and sparkles all around with 20 lively rose-cut diamonds. With a lustrous freshwater pearl for its head, the bejeweled specimen's eight legs, as well as its eyes, are brightened by electric green demantoid garnets (from the Ural Mountains of Russia). Too cool for the web, it's looking for a more stylish place to hang out--your neckline or lapel? Total diamond weight, .65 carat. Crafted in 14K gold, circa 1900, it suspends from an 18-inch chain and can also be worn as a brooch.
