She was in a sleuthing mood, so one of our intrepid gemologists tracked down the translation of the Arabic inscription exquisitely carved on the burnt orange carnelian plaque that rests atop this impressive ring: Allah, Ali (Muhammed's nephew), Abdou. An intriguing beauty. We suspect the carving is early-19th century and the mounting mid-20th century Hand fabricated in 14K rosy-yellow gold circa mid-20th century, now and forever ring size 9 1/2.
