ABOUT THIS RING
Five dusky almandine garnets gleam across this classic Victorian band ring (circa 1900) by M.B. Bryant, a noted New York jewelry house of the period (the turn-of-the-last-century) which utilized seldom seen, sturdy 12K yellow gold. Deep decorative hand engraving graces all sides. Currently ring size 8 1/2.
*Monroe B. Bryant got his start in the jewelry business in the 1840s. He formed the company in 1858 and by the late 1800s was a leading jeweler in New York City. He was an ardent abolitionist and one of the original founders of the Republican party, serving as a delegate at the very first Republican Convention in 1856. M.B. Bryant died in 1907 and at that time was known as “the oldest ring maker in America” according to his New York Times obituary.Details
