ABOUT THIS RING

After Prohibition ended, cocktail parties at speakeasies transitioned into more elegant--and less risque--dinner parties, and the requisite ring transitioned accordingly: enter the dinner ring. Lying low on the finger and usually having a north-to-south orientation, these glamorous jewels sizzled up and down with scintillating diamonds--just like this one. Measuring an impressive 1-inch long, its center shines brightly with an ebullient 1.09 carat European-cut diamond, accented above and beneath by an alluring array of stones--a baguette and single-cut combination crowned by a glittering half moon and an iconic Deco plume, all creating a striking geometric design. Single cuts shimmer east and west and on the distinctively fashioned split shoulders that lead to the size 7 3/4 ring shank. You will be the literal light--and life--of any party. Total diamond weight, 2.34 carats. Hand-fabricated in platinum and engraved with, "Mary Sloan 11-19-32." Digital GIA Grading Report available stating: L color - VS2 color.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
