ABOUT THIS RING

During the Middle Ages, the clergy wore blue sapphires believing that they were a symbol of heaven. The extraordinary stone in this extraordinary Art Deco ring gives good cause for that belief. Imbued with an utterly sublime, vibrant, and richly saturated deep blue hue, the 16.59 carat natural, unheated gem glows like a moonlit sky. Beautifully supporting, but not detracting from its eminence, are shoulders set with an array of flashing geometric-shaped diamonds--baguettes, trapezoids, and parallelograms--that create a crisply angled contrast to the sapphire's pillowy cushion shape. Yes, it's heavenly (not to mention impressive!). Total diamond weight, 4.00 carats. Hand-fabricated in platinum, currently ring size 7 1/4. Gemological report from the GIA states: No heat. Thailand - origin.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
