ABOUT THIS NECKLACE

The emerald cut is an elegant, often rectangular, step-cut design with long parallel mirror-like facets. In this bold and utterly alluring Art Deco pendant (formerly a brooch), the faceting of the gorgeous, 18.75 carat, deep cerulean-hued Santa Maria* aquamarine (about as fine as they come) creates nuanced shades of blue as the light strikes it with every move you make. Crowned with a characteristic geometric Deco element—shimmering with round brilliant-cut diamonds, of course—the pendant suspends from a fine cable chain that adjusts from 16 to 18 inches. Jazz Age chic at your service. Total diamond weight, .40 carat. Hand fabricated in platinum. *From the GIA website: Named after the Santa Maria de Itabira mine in Brazil, where some of the finest specimens were discovered, this gemstone is renowned for its exquisite blue color that mirrors the clear skies and pristine waters of a tropical paradise.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
