Art Deco .92 Carat Diamond and Sapphire* Engagement Ring - GIA G I1
ABOUT THIS RING
A blazing, icy-white antique cushion-cut diamond, weighing .92 carat, sparkles spectacularly from within a consummate Art Deco mounting, hand fabricated in platinum, circa 1920s-30s. The scintillating stone, accompanied by a GIA Diamond Grading Report stating: G color - I1 clarity, is embellished north and south by rows of tiny twinkling single-cut diamonds and east and west by geometric shoulders set with royal blue triangle sapphires* enhanced by a pair of small single-cut diamonds. A hand-engraved upper ring shank adds the finishing flourish to this jubilant Jazz Age jewel. Currently ring size 6 3/4. *Back in the day, circa 1920s-30s, due to their uniformity of color and flawless clarity, synthetic sapphires were considered a modern improvement over their natural counterparts, their virtually undetectable differences discernible only with a microscope. Case in point: in this ring one sapphire is synthetic, the other natural. Total diamond weight, 1.16 carats.
