ABOUT THIS NECKLACE

In the off chance you have some basic black in your wardrobe, we have just the thing. Dating back to the zenith of the Art Deco period, circa 1925, this striking pendant necklace flips open to reveal double locket compartments. Dramatically emblazoned on both sides with glossy black enamel, and on the front with a glittering diamond-set platinum oval adornment, the cushion-shaped pendant locket suspends from a matching chain composed of black onyx tubular links accented in between by tiny white pearls. A cool one. The maker's mark indicates by Levitt & Co. The chain measures 21 inches with a 2 1/2-inch extension, leading to the 2-inch-long pendant.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
