Imagine yourself living during the 1920s-30s and attending a swanky affair, dressed to the nines, and adorned with stunning jewels. This scene was real for the woman who wore this necklace, and it can be real for you in the 21st century. Opals (and exceptional ones at that), the gem that ancient Arabic legend believes falls from the heavens in flashes of lightning, take center stage in this breathtaking jewel. The focal point is a 9.00 carat oval cabochon black opal surrounded by a dazzling halo of diamonds and embellished with a lively fringe of diamonds. This glorious composition of color and sparkle is joined to complementary diamond-encircled opals by way of stylized hearts, glittering with diamonds, each centered by a larger stone. All together, they connect to an exquisite flat chain of long diamond-set and short rectangular links. The opals, with their dark body hue and iridescent neon play-of-color, do indeed create a lightening storm at your neckline. A truly extraordinary, rare and ravishing original Jazz Age jewel. Total diamond weight - 10.85 carats, total opal weight - 13.00 carats. Hand crafted in platinum (clasp tongue is 18K white gold), it measures 17 1/2 inches.
