ABOUT THIS NECKLACE

The word 'striking' barely begins to describe the dramatic impact created by the novel and exotic color combination of this rare Art Deco adornment. A translucent deep burnt orange carnelian plaque, hand carved with a double-floral design, is framed in embossed 14K yellow gold and connects to a glossy octagonal diamond-pierced black onyx via a black and vermilion enameled link. The striking assemblage suspends from a 16-inch chain of elegant elongated embossed links. An extraordinary Depression-era delight. Circa 1930.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
