ABOUT THIS BROOCH

Decidedly different and exotic in design, this original, dramatic and consummate Art Deco brooch by Carter & Gough will serve as your singular accessory on any given day, captivating the eyes of all. A smooth pear-shaped coral drop with a rich vermilion hue is accented at its tip with a dash of black enamel and dangles beneath a geometric composition colored with deep red enamel and shimmering with single-cut diamonds. The striking assemblage connects to a complementing curvilinear enameled bar, each end decorated with an open circular shape crowned by an openwork fan-like element. Electrifying. Hand fabricated in 18K white gold (pin stem and mechanism is 14K yellow gold), circa 1920s.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
