ABOUT THIS BROOCH

Around 1900, Newark, New Jersey jeweler Krementz made most of the collar buttons in use throughout the world (the company received a patent for their method of creating them in 1884). Aside from collar buttons and other items for dapper gents, Krementz produced bracelets, necklaces, rings, and brooches, each a unique masterpiece. This Art Deco brooch presents exceptionally fine and lacy filigree work. The elongated navette shape is decorated with star-bright European-cut diamonds, glimmering lake-blue French-cut sapphires, and is surrounded by a scroll-embellished border. An elegant dash of ornament for your collar, dress, hat, scarf, or wherever you choose to pin it. Total diamond weight - .27 carat, total sapphire weight - .30 carat. Hand fabricated in 14K white gold, circa 1920s-30s.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
