ABOUT THIS JEWELRY

Measuring a striking 2 5/8 inches (including the removable bail), this elegantly elongated and elaborately designed rectangular lavalière and brooch, dating from the 1920s-30s Art Deco period, sparkles up and down with 2.00 carats of bright-white European-cut diamonds accented with a navette-shaped ribbon of seamlessly-set royal blue synthetic* sapphires. Decorative piercing and delicate milgrain details add the finishing flourishes to this fabulous flapper-esque Jazz Age jewel. Hand fabricated in platinum, the removable pin stem is 14K gold, the bail and pin back are 18K gold. The new chain measures 18 inches. *Back in the day, circa 1920s-30s, due to their uniformity of color and flawless clarity, synthetic sapphires were considered a modern improvement over their natural counterparts, their virtually undetectable differences discernible only with a microscope.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
