ABOUT THIS JEWELRY

We generally refrain from dealing in pieces that feature synthetic stones, however, there was no way to resist this absolutely breathtaking Jazz Age jewel. We were quite surprised to discover that gemmy cobalt blue trapezoid sapphire was indeed man-made* - it's definitely original to the ring. The gemstone is mirrored on the opposite side by an icy-white trapezoid diamond (approx. .65 carat ) cleverly separated by a small square-cut sapphire and round diamond. The remainder of the rigorously detailed ring glitters with small European-cut diamonds accentuated with decorative piercing, milgraining, and hand-engraved detailing. A truly stunning one-of-a-kind Art Deco masterpiece. Currently ring size 7.

*Back in the day, circa 1920s-30s, due to their color consistency and flawless clarity, synthetic sapphires were considered a modern improvement over their natural counterparts; besides the fact that the subtle differences are only detectable with a microscope.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
