ABOUT THIS WATCH

High Art Deco at its finest and most strikingly dramatic, this spectacular work of wearable art will rival any jewel of its kind by the most renowned French jewelers of the Jazz Age. Measuring 3 1/4 inches long, the elongated rectangular watch case is designed around five central square Asscher-cut diamonds (together weighing 1.50 carats), framed in turn by buff-top calibre jade, slender calibre black onyx, and sparkling Swiss-cuts (old European single-cut diamonds). The timepiece swings and sways from a fob chain composed of gently graduated tonneau-shaped black onyx and small round diamonds surmounted by a matching jade, onyx, and diamond brooch. The high-grade movement is by C. Pourrat (Renee Lalique used a Pourrat watch movement for his watch). A truly singular and splendid Art Deco masterpiece. Hand fabricated. Total diamond weight, 3.61 carats. Condition note: two onyx stones have cracks.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
