Art Deco Garnet and Rose-cut Diamond Dinner Ring
ABOUT THIS RING
This striking Art Deco dinner ring is of unusual (and intriguing) origin and materials. Hand fabricated in silver over 18K gold (versus the usual platinum), the marks indicate that this 3/4+ inch-long finger bauble hails from Mussolini's Fascist Italy (circa 1935-38)! The ring features a dusky, almandine cushion-cut garnet, framed in consummate geometric style and enlivened by a handful of glinting rose-cut diamonds, all of which are supported by charming fleur-de-lys shoulders. A wonderful historical oddity (don't mind Il Duce, he had nothing to do with it ;). Currently ring size 7 1/2.
