ABOUT THIS RING

We all have some--treasured items that we only use for very special occasions: heirloom china, the drop-dead gorgeous beaded dress, extraordinary jewels. This magnificent (but somewhat delicate) ring is such a treasure. Its bold, eye-catching geometric design is centered by 5.96 carat synthetic* emerald-cut sapphire (original to the piece and to the period) with intriguing variations on the color blue that range from the lightest to a bright royal shade. The captivating stone rests in a coin-edged octagonal setting surrounded by a striking Greek-key design glimmering with tiny antique single-cut diamonds and midnight-blue square-cut sapphires. A thing of beauty unto itself, the under gallery is an exquisitely crafted openwork masterpiece of filigree and flowers. A breathtaking and stunning statement piece to be worn only for those events where, above all else, you must distinguish yourself from crowd. Total diamond weight - .50 carat, total sapphire weight - 8.06 carats. Hand fabricated in platinum over 14K gold, circa 1920s, currently ring size 5 1/2 with limited sizing. *

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
