ABOUT THIS BROOCH

There are scarf pins that simply pin onto scarves, and then there are the exceedingly rare scarf pins that curve around to hold them in place. This pin is one of the latter, designed by the highly esteemed Marcus & Co., and dates back to the early-1920s. Even within its diminutive (15/16 inch) size, the delightful accessory exhibits the intricate attention to detail found in the finest and most impressive original Art Deco jewels of the period. Hand-fabricated in platinum and 18K yellow gold (the pin mechanism), it is set with seven sparkling white European-cut and single-cut diamonds, and is finely hand engraved on the sides. A rare and ravishing signed collectible.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
