Back in the 1920s-30s, a creative jeweler paired this gorgeous variegated green, hand-carved natural Burmese jade plaque with a matching apple green oval cabochon jade to produce this stunning and exotic Art Deco necklace. The jade carving depicts a crane (symbolic of immortality, purity, vigilance, longevity, and good fortune) amid lush foliage, and is crowned in platinum and sparkling white European-cut diamonds accented with wisps of black onyx. The horizontally positioned jade cabochon decoratively intermediates between the carved plaque and the striking platinum bloom over 18K gold neck chain. A truly unique and distinctively stunning Jazz Age jewel. Accompanied by a gemological report from Stone Group Laboratories stating: Natural. No indications of polymers or dyes. Burma origin. The pendant measures just over 2 and 1/4 inches, 15-inch chain.
