Add some much-needed "oomph" to your neckline with this stunning Art Deco adornment from the 1920s Jazz Age. Measuring 2 inches long, the sizable marbled green drop has been identified by the intrepid gemologists at Stone Group Laboratories as natural Burmese omphacite* jade--something of a cross between jadeite and malachite. The intriguing gemstone suspends from an artfully designed bail, hand fabricated in platinum, aglitter with tiny twinkling rose-cut diamonds, and accented with glossy black enamel. A singular beauty. The new chain measures 20 inches. Gemological report from Stone Group
Laboratories states: Natural. No Indications of Polymers or Dyes. Myanmar (Burma) - origin.
*Additional information from Stone Group Laboratories (SGL): Jade, omphacite--yes you have to say it out loud. Until the last few years, this material was usually identified as jadeite by sight. Now, with modern technology, we can pinpoint exact chemical compositions, and thereby create this mineralogically accurate name for a combination of the closely related and commonly intergrown minerals omphacite and kosmochlor. SGL labels jade by its primary component, hence this jade is identified as the fun-to-say name, omphacite, which derives from the Greek 'omphax' that translates as 'unripe grape' for the typical green color. A cool topic of conversation to be sure!

About Art Deco Jewelry
Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.
As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
