Art Deco Onyx And Diamond Necklace
ABOUT THIS NECKLACE
Dating back to the first or second decade of the twentieth century, this dramatically striking early-Art Deco adornment, brought to you in glorious black & white (mostly black!), centers on a glossy lozenge-shaped onyx overlaid with a glittering platinum and diamond-set four-pointed star (aka Christmas star). These in turn are elegantly outlined by gently curved rows of seamlessly-set onyx baguettes punctuated by crescents twinkling with tiny rose cut diamonds. This rare and remarkable, singular and stunning Jazz Age jewel, hand fabricated in platinum over 18K yellow gold, measures 1 1/2 inches by just over 1 inch and suspends from an original 18-inch-long platinum chain. Total diamond weight, .35 carat.
