ABOUT THIS BROOCH

An extraordinary and entrancing opal of many colors - including: red, orange, yellow, blue, green and purple - displays a different pattern of shimmering colors with every movement in this fabulous Art Deco brooch, crafted in platinum and diamonds - circa 1925. Unfortunately, over the past century the opal has dried out and shows significant 'crazing' on both sides, a fact which detracts little from the appearance of the piece but substantially to the gemstone's value. We've priced this otherwise magnificent Art Deco jewel accordingly - about one-quarter the price! This glorious vintage brooch measures 1 5/8 inch long by 1 inch high.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
