ABOUT THIS BRACELET

Something delightfully different in an original Art Deco bracelet - circa 1925. The rather rare and distinctive combination of opals and demantoid garnets are most often seen in jewels from the turn-of-the-twentieth century Art Nouveau period. Here they have been effectively incorporated to soften and feminize the typically bold and striking effect of Art Deco. A pair of pretty pastel-hued opals are accented with vivid apple green demantoid garnets where one would usually expect to see sapphires, rubies and/or emeralds. The opals glow from the center and the back clasp; the four demantoids center sparkling platinum and diamond open and elongated sections. A singularly stunning Jazz Age jewel measuring 6 3/4 inches long by just shy of half an inch wide. 5.75 carats total diamond weight.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
