ABOUT THIS JEWELRY

Founded by Nathan Weil, the Casey Watch Co.--a supplier of half-hunting case watches, wristwatches, pocket watches, and chronographs--won first prize in the 1923 and 1924 chronometer competitions. This timepiece, evocative of a beautifully shaped stringed instrument, is an example of the company's superb craftsmanship and design aesthetic. Accented with deep bue calibre sapphires and shimmering with 72 single and four bright European cut diamonds, the front side presents as a stunning bejeweled pendant, while the reverse reveals a watch dial with fancy Roman numerals and a lavishly hand-engraved case. Elegant piercing, fine millegraining, and a synthetic cabochon sapphire on the crown add exquisite detail to this exceptional Art Deco teller of time. Total diamond weight, 1.30 carats. Crafted in platinum, it has a Swiss 18-jewel movement and five adjustments.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
