Giving a patriotic vibe, this chic octagonal Art Deco stickpin by the estimable American jeweler Bailey, Banks, and Biddle, centers a deep royal blue star-shaped sapphire surrounded by a frame of icy white single-cut diamonds bordered--in beautiful contrast--with ultra-vibrant raspberry-red calibre rubies. An uncommon design and a consummate collectible. Modestly sized but as fine as they come, it is expertly hand fabricated in 18K white gold (pin stem is 14K gold), circa 1925.
