ABOUT THIS NECKLACE

With the body, tail, and back legs of a lion and the head and wings of an eagle, this reputedly mythical creature--Griffin by name--dares you to pluck the pearl from its mouth. Artfully sculpted in two-tone 18K gold (yellow gold for the griffin, rose gold for the branches), circa 1890-1900, It measures just shy of 1 1/2 inches. Converted from a pin so that he could move more freely.
