ABOUT THIS NECKLACE
According to Greek mythology, the goddess Iris personified the rainbow and acted as a link between heaven and earth. In this gleaming 18K medal pendant, a lovely maiden--perhaps the goddess herself-- holding sprays of irises graces the front and the reverse is also adorned with irises. The exquisite jewel is signed by Jean Baptiste Emile Dropsy, a renowned French medalist who was awarded a Medal at the 1898 Paris, France Salon for his engraved designs. He worked for the firm of L. Chalin in France for a time before moving onto other jewelry firms.
