Though only found in ironstone boulders in the state of Queensland, Australia, boulder opals--with their extraordinary and mesmerizing coloration--are evocative of galaxies far, far away. Each one of the 12 stones in this rare and riveting necklace is its own unique universe of hues and designs, exquisitely wrought by nature. Connected by textured gold links interspersed with glimmering sea-blue sapphires, they create a wondrous world of stunning beauty to grace your neck. Circa 1900. Total sapphire weight, 5.50.
