Art Nouveau Sapphire and Diamond Necklace
ABOUT THIS NECKLACE
Rare, ravishing, and remarkable, this jewel hails from a period of extraordinary craftsmanship--the Art Nouveau era, circa 1900. The necklace presents a pendant with characteristic sinuous vines of gleaming gold, culminating in two sweet flowers that are embellished above by a crisply sparkling old mine-cut diamond and beneath with a luminous blue cabochon sapphire, while a small flower-topped sapphire dangles below. This wondrous work of wearable art connects to a double chain--punctuated by complementary stations centered by old mine-cut diamonds and sapphires--that transitions to a single chain via larger versions of the bell-shaped blooms. A singular, superb and collectible adornment. Total diamond weight - 1.45 carats, total sapphire weight - 3.15 carats. Hand fabricated in 18K gold. Chain measures 17 inches, center drop is 1 1/2 inches long.
