Arts And Crafts Natural Double Jade Dangle Necklace
ABOUT THIS NECKLACE
Taking a refreshing turn from the design aesthetic of the Industrial revolution in Europe (which included lots of mourning jewelry), the Arts & Crafts movement introduced an unbridled use of bright enameled color, graceful free-flowing designs, and gleaming cabochons to the era's alluring adornments. This splendid pendant presents a glossy marbled apple green double-cabochon jade, encircled by a beautifully patinated gold frame embellished with a curling vine and leaf motif. Dangling below is a smaller cabochon jade topped by a sprig of leaves, its spiraling tendrils caressing the sides of the stone. The vibrant composition suspends from a 17 1/2 inch chain by way of a two-leaf bail. Hand fabricated in 14K gold, circa turn-of-the-20th-century. Accompanied by a gemological report from Stone Group Laboratories stating: Natural. No indications of polymers or dyes. Myanmar (Burma), origin.
