ABOUT THIS BROOCH

From none other than Cartier, circa 1960, by way of its lesser-known Italian contingent, comes this gorgeous golden flower brooch*, artfully and substantially sculpted in richly textured 18K yellow gold accented by a diamond-centered, ruby-petaled blossom. This glorious nature-inspired jewel measures a conspicuous 2 1/4 inches tall. Stamped: "18K Italy / Cartier." *Provenance. This comes from the estate of renowned A-list Hollywood actor and comedian Jack Lemmon

About Mid-Century Jewelry

Mid-Century jewelers gave the Victorians a run for their money when it came to variety—with the added bonus of big, bold gems in every shape, size, and color. Themes of previous eras were made fabulous enough to match the optimism of the post-war world. Transitional pieces bridged the gap between the first and second half of the 20th century.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
