Early Art Deco 1.40 Carat Antique Cushion-Cut Diamond and Synthetic Sapphire Ring
ABOUT THIS RING
A spectacular center stone: a rectangular antique cushion-cut (quasi-French-Cut) diamond, weighing 1.40 carats, is simply yet strikingly presented from within a frame of rich royal blue, seamlessly-set, synthetic* sapphires, in this rare and radiant original Art Deco engagement ring (or just-for-fun right hand ring). Hand fabricated in gleaming 14K rosy-yellow gold, circa 1920. Currently ring size 5 1/2+. *Back in the day, circa 1920s-30s, due to their uniformity of color and flawless clarity, synthetic sapphires were often considered a modern improvement over their natural counterparts, besides the fact that the virtually undetectable differences are only discernible through a brightly lit microscope.
