ABOUT THIS NECKLACE

Dating back to the first or second decade of the twentieth century, this strikingly stunning lavalière necklace from the early Art Deco period is beautiful hand fabricated in platinum over 18K yellow gold. The dangling tear shape drop is anchored by a bright-white and sparkling .40 carat European-cut diamond, accented by calibre sapphire (synthetic*) ribbons interspersed and framed in glittering rose-cut diamonds, all of which swing and sway from an elongated V-shaped top. Total diamond weight - 1.30 carats, total synthetic sapphire weight - .50 carat. The original platinum chain measures 16 inches. *Original to the period and used for their flawless clarity and consistency of color.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
