This beautiful turn-of-the-century platinum over 14K yellow gold brooch highlights a magnificent 22.00 carat octagonal cut amethyst surrounded by a delicate openwork frame of scrolls set with twenty old mine cut diamonds (.50 carat total weight, G-I color, SI-I1 clarity) and accented by eight seed pearls. This pin measures 1 1/2" by 1 1/2".

But just because one era ended and another began, it doesn’t mean that creative jewelry makers simply forgot the lessons of the past!
