Edwardian/Art Deco Platinum Diamond Dinner Ring
10-1-11950
ABOUT THIS RING
Long ago, maybe as early as the 1940s, someone had the creative notion to transform an early-20th-century early-Art Deco/Edwardian platinum diamond bar pin into a striking 1 5/8-inch-long dinner ring. The sleek, chic mirror-image design features an open louver or lyre motif sparkling with three-quarter-carat of bright white diamonds. Apparently, the ring shank is rendered in palladium, a look-a-like cousin of platinum which was required as a strategic metal during the WWII years (thus, palladium is a more peaceful precious metal!). A stunning statement maker. Currently ring size 6 3/4.
