"Round like a circle in a spiral, like a wheel within a wheel. Never ending or beginning on an ever spinning reel..." Feel free to hum along with "The Windmills of your Mind," the song which was first heard in 1968 on the soundtrack for the film The Thomas Crown Affair starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. A half century earlier a talented jewelry artist expressed the same sentiments through another medium altogether--diamonds! This fabulous Edwardian-era jewel, masterfully hand fabricated in platinum, is composed of four distinct wheels within wheels creating a singular, circular sensation of old mine-cut and rose-cut diamonds totaling 3.75 carats. Formerly a brooch, we decided to suspend it from a simple platinum chain.

About Edwardian Jewelry

Edwardians took the dark beauty of Victorian jewelry and dyed it platinum blonde. Light and airy filigree, worked with intricate millegrain and detailed designs in that durable metal, was liberally set with the “white” stones—pearls and diamonds chief among them.
