Edwardian Natural Freshwater Pearl and Diamond Ring - GIA
30-1-10736
ABOUT THIS RING
Some pearls are so breathtakingly beautiful they deserve a crown (or at least a diamond tiara). We have one of those. This 9.47 carat natural freshwater pearl, voluptuous in form, shimmers with an enchanting iridescence and is nestled in an exquisite setting--sparkling with icy white old mine-cut diamonds-- that ascends in crown-like fashion. The intriguing design creates a delightfully ample teardrop of luster and sparkle. A distinctive side gallery fashioned with openwork 'flowers,' and a fluted shank add the finishing flourishes to this singular Edwardian jewel dating back to the first or second decade of the twentieth century. Total diamond weight, .75 carat. Hand fabricated in platinum, the fluted ring shank is currently size 6 3/4. Accompanied by a GIA Pearl Report stating Natural freshwater pearl.
