As exquisite as can be, this exceptional and distinctively stunning Edwardian jewel, dating back to the first or second decade of the twentieth century, features a pair of ocean gems: two natural saltwater (aka Oriental) button pearls. One is shimmering white and dangles from bezel-set diamond-studded knife wires, the other has an iridescent black hue and is dramatically framed in sparkling white diamonds and crystalline red triangular rubies. Delicately and expertly hand fabricated in platinum over 14K rosy-yellow gold, this breathtaking beauty measures 2 3/8 inches long. The newer platinum chain measures 16 inches.

About Edwardian Jewelry

Edwardians took the dark beauty of Victorian jewelry and dyed it platinum blonde. Light and airy filigree, worked with intricate millegrain and detailed designs in that durable metal, was liberally set with the “white” stones—pearls and diamonds chief among them.
