ABOUT THIS NECKLACE
Prim and proper (at least outwardly so), Edwardians, like the Victorians before them, found creative ways to express their feelings; the buckle was one of them. Symbolizing the binding together of two people in love or friendship, the motif was used in all manner of jewelry. This delightful delicacy features a slender oval buckle glinting with tiny rose-cut diamonds, encircled by natural pearls, and joined to a fine natural pearl chain. Sweet sentiment. Total diamond weight: .30 carat. Hand fabricated in platinum, circa 1910. Chain measures 18 inches.
