Edwardian Pearl, Diamond and Onyx Locket Necklace
ABOUT THIS NECKLACE
Lockets never cease to amaze. Their beauty and style range from the exquisitely restrained to the wonderfully ornate. This Edwardian-era masterwork in glorious black and white features a gleaming oval of carved onyx and is adorned with a bright white platinum navette shape embellished with a brilliant 1.20 carat European cut diamond, kissed above and beneath by a luminous natural pearl. Lacy, exquisitely worked filigree, sparkling with European and rose cut diamonds, creates an elegant frame for this pendant locket that opens to reveal a porcelain portrait (something not commonly seen) of a handsome gentleman. Hand fabricated, it suspends from an 18-inch chain. Condition note: The beautiful porcelain photograph has been well-loved and is chipped. A rare and unusual technique, we left it as is, and we leave you to muse about the life and times of the subject or to replace it with a photo of someone you actually know and love.
